Michael Sandler

I have just discovered an wonderful composer and musician, Michael Sandler. If you like Eremos music, you'll love Michael's extraordinary work. His massive 7-part work, Geschichte, a musical account of salvation history(!), is one of the finest pieces of modern abstract (ambient) music I've heard for a long long time.

There are also a couple of tracks not available elsewhere, 'The Cloud of Unknowing' and 'The Silver Waves', free to download at Michael's DMusic page.

Do go and listen - you can download the whole thing, freely and legally, if you're as taken with it as I am. (Go, Michael! The more of us who can use the power of the Internet to freely distribute what God as given to us, the more we provide an antidote to what the world does with art, and indeed with God's gifts in general!)

Thanks for the email (on my comments on the Sexual Orientation Regs www.malcolmduncan.typepad.com. Christians often demomnstrate the least grace and compassion and forget the importance of unconditional love and respect. I am embarassed and saddened by that

I am once again entering the arena of criticism and attack because of these views and am grateful to you taking the time to respond. A load of interviews, comments and opportunities to try and say something more gracious and Christlike are happening at the moment - but one way you can help is to forward the statement I have made to as many people as possible and encourage them to comment on the blog or on the blow www.buildingabetterworld.typepad.com which picks up the issues of human dignity and hustice but within the context of working with people of other faith and none on the eradication of poverty.

I've also added something to the blog.

    Thanks again

    Malcolm

  2. Hi Mike,

I just happened to notice your enthusiasm for my composition, Geschichte. Thanks for listening! From your profile I see we have similar tastes in music. I saw Robert Fripp in Chapel Hill, NC, a few months ago, on his Soundscapes tour. I notice you are also a fan of Palancar and Altus. Have you been in contact with them yet? If not, you may want to know they are regulars in the chat room during the live shows on Palancar's station, Stillstrem.com. The Saturday show usually draws a lot of people. Here's the schedule. Drop in sometime and say hi.
