This song was sung after the homily this Christmas at Midnight Mass at my parish. I had not heard it before. Makes you kind of wonder what Mary did know or imagine.

Happy Christmas (and a Merry one as well!)

Give my love to the fluffy ones - I hope they had a good Christmas too! Mine have been enjoying their little catnip cushions with bells on ;-)

I'm reciting John 1 these days. I hate it when they skip that reading on Christmas morning. What a missed opportunity!

(Word verification: waste !!!)

Quite, Shannon - John 1's nearly my favourite passage of Scripture anyway. I'm pleased to say I heard it twice - at Midnight and again on Christmas morning! We need to remember just who it was who was born in that stable...

Blessings, peace and joy to you during this Christmas season, Mike, and to your readers.

We sang this song on Christmas Eve at our parish too! I don't know if you've ever heard Kathy Mattea's version (it's the first version I ever heard, years ago) but it still gives me the chills! So beautiful.

That is beautiful, Gabrielle! I hadn't heard her version before - just found it on YouTube - I love the way she brings out the awe, the real sense of the numinous. Chills indeed!
